Michael is one of the loved Cape Town artists, who weather any storm for his art. He uses reclaimed wood from building sites to create these masterpieces. He loves nature and lives this passion through his art.
Born and bred in Eastern cape, he moved to Johannesburg to seek work. His then employer funded his studies at Funda and there he completed a 3-year art diploma. His art is inspired by the rich African landscape, heritage and culture. With a use of cow dung that is brought back to life. He displays his inner satisfactions and inner discomforts through his art
I'm an artist at heart, love creating things... With clay, paint, in the garden... Everywhere. I also have a passion for sustainable living and creating jobs in Cape Town.
I believe that less is more, and subscribe to a minimalist way of living. To me consumerism has led us all astray, squandering our precious resources.
When my daughter was in matric, a constant problem were their cell phones being pickpocket. I designed a belt bag for them that locked. I added some bling, and was delighted when my friends also fell in love with these practical bags.
They have an adjustable, detachable strap and can be worn as a belt bag, clutch bag or cross body bag....and they lock!
They are ideal for exercising in (perfect for the lockdown) .... As well as hitting the town. They sit close to the body, which is great at eliminating contamination in these Covid times.
Each bag is handmade with love in Cape Town. The leather is ethically sourced from local tanneries. (and they are designed to last, not land up as plastic in the sea.)
My dream is to create slow, high quality bags that last.
My winter colours are a beautiful Olive green, and tan. They also come in black and nude. The studs are silver and matt gold, so easily match all your jewellery.
Cutting edge threads for the non-conformist based in Cape Town, South Africa

I feel a strong need to break the stereotypical mould of ‘Pink and Blue’. Skulls on a baby?! Little girls wearing black? It sounds so wrong but if worn with mega attitude it can be so right! Times have changed, people are challenging the status quo and parents want their kids to stand out, not blend in. My kids inspire me every day and I love coming up with unusual ideas and encouraging others to be completely different and unique. The brand has a story behind it and the hand crafted products

Pretty Bright Girls was born from the desire to ignite a sense of pride in women with the most personal jobs in the country; while adding beauty, brightness and sophistication to homes across our rainbow nation.
This dress is uniquely designed to maximize comfort and style. It is easy to wear and has a traditional influence.
Early 2019, the birth of Aurora took place borne out of this love for fashion, style and more specifically interesting accessories that are unique and different and have the ability to change an outfit completely. I began by developing earrings that were fun, interesting and proudly South African made by yours truly.
Today I am continuing to produce accessories that are personally designed by myself and each accessory I still personally touch before it gets to its final home assuring quality and attention to detail. I am a firm believer in supporting and uplifting local business/communities where possible and some of my Aurora projects have allowed me to do more of this by working with an extremely talented group of crafters based in rural KZN. The proceeds of the work they do allows them to take back to their family and community enriching their lives a little more than before which is a beautiful story for Aurora and makes me proud of this little business.
"kerf" is an Afrikaans word that directly translates into "carve". Through the raw material, I found my passion to design something unique. Creating something new with my hands and converting my talent into making (with the love for traditional craftsmanship) a product that will last you a lifetime.
Our devotion to every product and skillful workmanship quickly spread like wildfire and kerf grew into a full-on business. One thing stayed the same...
Quality over Quantity.
This is kerf.
Our focus is on creating something different, being original but keeping our products the way nature intended. All our products are genuine leather and hand stitched.
I have an absolute love and passion for Boho fashion, accessories and decor. I saw a gap in the South African market for Boho style clothing and accessories and persued my dream of having a store dedicated to all things Boho.
All the clothing items in this store are designed and made by my in house design label Gypsy Soul.
I truly live my brand and my brand in essence an extension of me and all I believe in and love.
